Office of Special Programs and Continuing Education

Course Organizer: Paul B. Queneau

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This program, now in its seventeenth year, focuses on current plant practices to convert metal-containing wastes to products. Processors, raw materials, and markets are identified and quantified. Speakers with decades of hands-on experience detail multiple approaches to recycling metals and associated materials - backed up by slides, videos, and the syllabus.

Particular emphasis is given to combinations of physical, hydrometallurgical, and pyrometallurgical processing, along with associated regulations, to facilitate economical recycling. The presentations are on a practical level, focusing on plant operations, with ample opportunity for interaction by the course participants.

COMMENTS FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS

Best technical conference I ever attended on any subject!

Art Mathes, Sr. Technical Solutions, Veolia, Beaumont, TX

I learned more in three days than I generally learn in three to four months of business / travel meetings.

Rajesh Shah, Technical Officer, Agmet, Oakwood Village, OH

Combining good presentations with good organization & fun, and the possibility to meet many people.

Patrick Weerts, Director, Sidmet S.A., Tilly, Belgium

Year after year this meeting continues to be the most important event anyone in metals reclamation can attend. It should be required by any company wanting to move forward in metals reclaiming.

Mike Harbert, National Sales Manager, ECS Refining, Fort Worth, TX

A perfect setting; a lot of focused contacts; I hope you will continue doing this meeting a long time.

Sybolt Brouwer, Raw Materials Manager, Umicore Precious Metal Refining, Hoboken, Belgium

In terms of meeting and interacting with the industry, three days here are worth at least six months of office / business travel contacts.

Al Hardies, Mgr. Raw Material Acquisition & Sales, INMETCO, Ellwood City, PA
